The northern bobwhite quail has long been an important part of the spring symphony with its familiar “bob-bob-white” ringing through Pennsylvania’s farms and fields. Within the last quarter century this native bird species has slowly quieted and is now deemed extirpated from the keystone state. The PA Game Commission in partnership with Letterkenny Army Depot, Quail Forever, and multiple others, are leading a cutting-edge effort to reintroduce bobwhites back into Pennsylvania.
