In March of 1970, the brook trout became our state fish. Living in Pennsylvania’s 4,000 miles of coldwater streams, they are the only trout species native to Pennsylvania. Clear and pure coldwater streams containing no pollution provide the perfect habitat for this fish species. Brook trout are also called speckled trout, squaretails or just “brookies” by anglers. Join Jason Detar for a virtual presentation on our state fish.
